About potential savings
Savings are compared to your current tariff. In some cases your new contract may show a higher tariff than your current one — this can happen when energy prices have risen significantly since you last fixed your price. In these situations, the new contract price will still be considerably lower than the non-contract rate you would otherwise face. SMS will always advise you clearly on what the numbers mean.
Energy benchmarking exercise
SMS periodically runs a benchmarking exercise comparing energy costs across client schools. Results are shared with participating schools to help inform procurement decisions.
