Financial Management and Governance Self-Assessment (FMGS)

Available for academies only

All new academies are required to complete a Financial Management and Governance Self-Assessment document (FMGS), which must be submitted to the EFA within 4 months of opening.

All SMS services comply with the FMGS and the work undertaken as part of our SLAs will ensure your systems are compliant.

This service is available to all schools irrespective of the level of service they purchase through SMS. We can work with you to ensure that the policies and procedures are in place to meet the requirements. We can also undertake an independent check of work undertaken by the school to provide senior leaders and trustees with assurance regarding compliance.
